Volunteer Fire Dept

The Jemez Springs Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue works with its neighbors in La Cueva, Ponderosa, Zia Pueblo and Jemez Pueblo to provide fire suppression and medical emergency services to the Jemez Springs area. Emergency events are coordinated throughout Sandoval County by county emergency services in Bernalillo.

The JSVFDR always welcomes local citizens to join the department. Help of all kinds is appreciated, not just limited to rushing into burning buildings.  Administrative and computer support is also needed. For information about joining, training, or fire-wise advice please contact the Fire and Rescue Captain at 829-3131.

Burn permits are issued by the clerk at the Village Office in Jemez Springs. For information call 829-3540 during business hours. You may also call 829-3131 if you would like to arrange to have apparatus and personnel standing by at your burn site. Citizens engaged in burning also must make sure that it is an authorized burn day for Sandoval County by calling 800-898-2876.

Thank you for your cooperation and community support!
