Public Hearing
On November 29, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. the Village of Jemez Springs Planning and Zoning Commission will conduct a public hearing at the Village Conference Room (adjacent to the Library). The purpose of this hearing is to update members of the Jemez Springs community and receive input from the community on the application submitted by Commnet for a wireless telecommunications facility conditional use permit.
Commnet currently provides roaming services for various cellphone providers from its tower located at 17816 Highway 4 (Johnson Hill Road). The application is seeking to replace the existing tower with a tower of similar height and footprint. The new tower will continue to provide Commnet roaming services and local emergency communications services and will add AT&T FirstNet emergency communications equipment.
The application will be available for review by members of the public during regular office hours in the conference room of the Josephine Shepard Memorial Municipal Office Building. A copy of documents provided by Commnet and SAC is available online here.
In addition, the November monthly meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission is rescheduled from its regular third-Thursday date of November 18th to November 29th and will convene upon conclusion of the public hearing.
